COMMUNITY & CULTURAL EVENTS

In addition to the 20 community murals and many Integrated Arts Projects produced in the Southside of Williamsburg, Los Muralistas have designed, built and painted stage sets, puppets, backdrops, street banners, posters and other visual pieces used during community events, such as El Puente's annual Three Kings Day Performance, political demonstrations and rallies, public performances and more.

El Grinch, 2008

The 2008 Three Kings performance adapted the storyline of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." In the performance El Grinch tries to take away all of the colors (and culture) from "QueQueVille." In the show's most dramatic scene; a black and white, sharp-lined version of the set replaced the bright, colorful, round scenery seen in this photo. Bboys and Bgirls performed a routine while the colors were stolen.
